The quality of a protein blend is a function of its amino acid profile and bioavailability. Many proteins by themselves (e.g. rice and beans) may not be high-quality, but when combined they create a complete, high-quality amino acid profile. Pure Genius, with its 2/3rds BLG and 1/3rd collagen blend, combines to create a complete, high-quality amino acid profile that is especially rich in leucine.

Complete, high quality protein

A complete protein source has adequate amounts of all 9 essential amino acids your body cannot produce on its own. All proteins are made up of amino acids, the building blocks of protein. To make incomplete protein blends complete, they can be combined with complimentary proteins and fortified with missing amino acids.

The Pure Genius Protein blend is complete and targets the standards for a high-quality amino acid profile according to the PDCAAS method established by the older child and adult reference pattern in the FAO 2013 report on protein quality. While collagen by itself lacks tryptophan, our formula (which is 2/3rds BLG) compliments the amino acid that collagen lacks to provide all 9 essential amino acids. It also adds in L-Valine and L-Histidine.

This results in a protein blend that is comparable to many high-quality animal-based proteins.

The genius of Pure Genius Protein is the protein selection. Both beta-lactoglobulin and hydrolyzed collagen peptides are highly soluble in water, which means that we can fit 23 grams of protein into just 3.38 oz of water without it tasting thick or clumpy. In fact, most people are shocked by the juice-like consistency.

Most protein powders require 12-16oz to deliver the same amount of protein, and are much chalkier and thicker.
